The Friends of Craigtoun are proud owners of Plant Heritage's National Collection status for their collection of Siberian iris that have the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. The Award of Garden Merit is given only to plants that have been proven by rigorous testing to be reliable to grow in the garden.

Our National Collection is carefully maintained by volunteers in the Craigtoun Gardening Group, who maintain the gardens at Craigtoun Country Park throughout the year. 

The Gardening Group will be holding Open Days for the National Collection on Tuesday  11th and Thursday 13th June 2024 between 10 am and 4pm in the Walled Garden at Craigtoun Park. The group will take orders for iris which can be collected in the Autumn in time for planting in visitors' own gardens. Other plants from the gardens will also be available for sale on the Open Days.
